Microsoft Office 2003 for Teams

It's hard to believe that most computer workers are still self-taught and use only 15% of the potential of their software programs! Workers can train at one of our established Pentium PC labs or with a minimum number of participants, we bring all the hardware, software, and staff needed to create a state-of-the-art training facility at your company location.

Learn the key features of Microsoft Office’s most popular products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Then, put them to work in a team setting where students combine their efforts to complete business projects. Brainstorm new marketing ideas, communicate with customers, manage customer records, and create budgets and reports.

 This course is project based and participation within teams is required. 

 The first 6 classes focus on the 4 main components of Microsoft Office. Students become adept at general business communication via letters, memos, spreadsheets, presentations, reports and e-mail.

Microsoft Office Basics

  • Create standard business documents in Microsoft Word

  • Create and manage lists and reports in Microsoft Excel

  • Use Merge with Word and Excel lists

  • Create presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Use Microsoft Outlook for customer contact management

  • Create templates for standard business documents

 During weeks 7-8, students are taught the basics of collaboration with Microsoft’s newest product, Groove Virtual Office. Teams of 3-5 students assume roles in fictitious companies that manufacture products or offer a service.

Groove Virtual Office Basics

  • Install Groove Virtual Office

  • Configure client options

  • Modify contact information

  • Create workspacesUse basic Groove tools

  • Understand and use Groove instant messaging and chat

  • Invite others to Groove workspaces

This final module combines all the skills learned in previous modules. Students will perform their shared responsibilities according to their assumed company roles. Projects will involve the students in simulated customer prospecting, new product ideas, internal and external communication, presentation of ideas, etc. Team members will work both face-to-face in the classroom and via Groove Virtual Office.
